Recently in the UK, there has been debate about IVF babies potentially having 'three parents' - it's a new technique primarily intended to combat problems with mitochondria, part of the female egg structure. The woman mentioned in the link below has lost seven - seven!! - babies/children to this condition. How on earth did she get through it??????? Twice has been more than plenty for me.

This blog charts our story in trying to have a family. It describes the soul-destroying, mind-bending, insanity-producing experience of being told that your baby has serious abnormalities, and to decide that you believe it to be kinder, for the baby, not to continue with the pregnancy. And to be faced with this situation twice. This is not a blog which is pro-TFMR or anti-CTT (carrying to term). This is purely the story of what has happened to my husband and I and how we came to our decisions.

That is unimaginable. Poor woman, poor babies. I suppose it is true, there is always someone worse off, though I always hope there isn't :(
